Droplets

A pane of glass in front of the stage with rain running down it. Two layers of falling drops plus a field of small static ones refract the frame behind them, and each drop carries a specular glint

Each drop has its own highlight, so droplets remain visible over transparent areas of the stage

A drop does not slide the moment it appears — most of its cycle is spent easing in place before it runs, which is what stops the pane reading as a uniform downpour

Changing the Direction

Rotating the field is not just cosmetic. At ±90° the rain streaks sideways, suggesting wind; at ±180° it runs upward, which is what you want for a window on a moving vehicle or a surreal effect

Adjust Wiggle and Fall Speed alongside the direction to keep the droplet motion consistent with the intended effect

Glints and the Transparent Window

Glints adds highlights that keep droplets visible over transparent areas. Refraction alone cannot show a drop where there is no background to refract, so these highlights help the rain remain visible over your desktop or OBS scene

Turn it down toward 0 when the stage has a solid background and refraction alone already reads

Processing Order

Droplets runs after every screen-space warp — pixelate and Subspace Glitch™ — because the pane is in front of the stage rather than part of it. Grain and vignette stay camera-side, after the glass
