Chromatic Aberration

Physical camera lenses naturally exhibit subtle color separation near the edges of the frame. Chromatic Aberration recreates this optical trait, dispersing red, green, and blue channels outward toward the screen edges to provide cinematic, wide-angle lens realism.

Controls

ControlRangeDefaultEffect
Strength0 – 10.2Dispersion reach and displacement distance
Edge Blur0 – 11Controls whether dispersion blends smoothly or splits sharply

The center of the frame remains distortion-free, with color fringing growing stronger toward the outer corners. This matches real optical lens behavior, keeping the central character sharp while adding natural edge dispersion.

The default value of 0.2 provides subtle, authentic lens character. Increasing the value makes color separation prominent, which pairs effectively with Subspace Glitch™ for cybernetic or signal-distortion aesthetics.

Edge Blur

Edge Blur adjusts the softness of the color fringing. At 1, channel separation blends into a smooth, natural gradient. At 0, it separates into crisp, distinct red, green, and blue color silhouettes.

This setting adjusts smoothly: lower values evoke retro CRT displays or monitor RGB splits, while 1 delivers clean, modern lens dispersion.

Live2D Support

Chromatic Aberration applies across the combined scene, treating 3D VRM avatars and Live2D models identically to ensure consistent lens optics across all layers.
