Persona supports Live2D and VRM models on the same stage. Both appear in one model list, with a format icon on each row. You can use them together without switching modes
Bundled Models
Three models ship with the application and are always listed in the Inventory under Bundled: a Live2D model and two VRM avatars, each credited to its author
The bundled models are sample assets, licensed for evaluation and testing rather than for commercial streaming. Persona flags them in the panel with a link to the relevant licence — use your own model on stream
Opening Your Own Model
Open the Inventory — Add to Scene… under the layer list or on the tray menu — select Live2D or VRM in the sidebar, and click Open Model…. Select the model's entry file: a .model3.json for Live2D, a .vrm or .glb for VRM
Persona validates the file before loading it. A Live2D model with missing referenced files reports exactly which ones, rather than failing silently
A .glb file without VRM data is added to the scene as a 3D object. This lets you import props such as furniture or scenery from the model picker
The Recent group keeps the ten most recently opened models across restarts. Each row shows the format icon and, when available, the model’s own icon—the same one shown in VTube Studio
A plugin can register models and assets too, from the folders you list under Plugin Folders. They appear in the same Inventory
Per-Model Settings
Select a model in Layers to show its settings below the list. Each section can be collapsed, and its open or closed state is saved across restarts. This lets you keep unused sections, such as large motion groups, out of the way
| Section | Contents |
|---|---|
| Info | Loaded model details — see below |
| Position | Visual and numeric placement for this instance |
| MToon | VRM only: material fine-tuning |
| Layer Effects | Effects applied to this layer alone |
| Idle | The VRM idle animation, or Live2D Auto Breath |
| Tracking | This avatar's Controller Movement and Microphone Lip Sync — see Tracking and Lip Sync |
| Parameters | Bindings from tracking and controller inputs to the model |
| Motions | Motion groups or VRM motion clips |
| Expressions | The model's expressions |
These sections apply to the selected model. Tracking sources and automations have their own rows in the Control Panel. See the primary model for details about the scene’s default action target
Swapping Models
Swap… in the layer's actions menu replaces this layer's model in place, keeping its position in the scene's stacking order — see Swapping a Layer. To add a model rather than replace one, use Add to Scene… under Layers
Switching models keeps your framing: the placement is per instance, so a swap inherits the position, scale and rotation already set up on that layer
Models crossfade when you swap them, in the style the scene's Show and Hide sets. Live2D fades the whole model through a filter so that its parts do not show through each other. VRM uses a screen-space dither dissolve to preserve opacity and depth sorting, avoiding the exposed model interiors that can occur with an ordinary transparency fade
Shortcuts
Key bindings for expressions, motions and model swaps are saved per model and listed under Avatar Shortcuts in the Control Panel’s Automations row. See Avatar Shortcuts. Bound keys also appear as badges on motion and expression buttons for easy reference
To switch scenes with a key, give an automation a Switch Scene action. Automations can also run avatar actions on any avatar layer, not only the primary model
Model Info
The section heading identifies the loaded model as format · name, for example Live2D · RAYNOS-chan, using the same format as object layers
Expand Info to inspect the loaded model and help diagnose file or application problems. The fields depend on the model format; see the Live2D fields and VRM fields
Licence restrictions for bundled models also appear here. The notice remains visible even when the section is collapsed
