Select a webpage layer and open Webpage to edit its address, viewport, rendering, and visibility behavior.
Webpage Layers
Any valid http(s) webpage can be embedded into the scene as an interactive or decorative object: stream chat overlays, countdown timers, guestbooks, or custom local HTML pages. Webpages can be added from the Webpages category in the Inventory via its URL input field.
Selecting a webpage layer displays its dedicated configuration panel:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Address | Accepts http(s) URLs only; other protocols are rejected. Commits on input blur or pressing Enter, reloading the page |
| Width and Height | Webpage viewport size in CSS pixels, ranging from 16 to 7680 (default: 1280 × 720). Modifying dimensions triggers a reload. On-stage display dimensions are controlled separately via Placement |
| FPS | Webpage rendering frame rate limit, ranging from 1 to 60 (default: 30). When a page is static, rendering overhead remains minimal; this setting establishes an upper bound |
| Transparent Background | Enabled by default (matching OBS browser source behavior). When disabled, the page background renders solid white |
| Shut Down When Hidden | Enabled by default. Immediately terminates the browser session when the layer is hidden and reloads upon unhiding to eliminate background CPU usage. When disabled, the in-memory session persists and only visual painting pauses |
| Custom CSS | Injected into every page loaded by this layer (leave blank to inject nothing). The placeholder body { background: transparent } represents the most common use case |
2D webpage layers stack directly in Layers list order, with front-to-back obscuration governed by layer order, and fully participate in global scene effects. When pinned to a Live2D model, 2D webpages also support depth interleaving between the model's internal ArtMesh layers via the Depth slider.
In Stream Mode, the control window and web console mask webpage URLs to protect privacy: the Info row displays only the origin followed by /***, alongside a compact Copy URL button that still copies the full URL. Under this mask, the Address field starts empty so typing replaces the existing URL; edits in progress when Stream Mode is toggled on are dropped.
Webpages execute inside an isolated, in-memory browser sandbox: no persistent data is written to disk, camera, microphone, geolocation, screen capture, and file download permissions are rejected, popup windows are blocked, and navigations outside http(s) are halted. Webpage processes cannot access the local filesystem.
Webpages receive a standard Chrome User-Agent header appended with a unique LAPLACE-Persona/<version> token (matching the convention used by OBS with OBS/<version>), allowing third-party stream widgets to identify the host environment. The User-Agent contains no Electron tokens or host environment identifiers.
