LAPLACE Cycles offers two configurable Home Screen widgets, both built from the same cycle dial, phase colors, and wording as the profile cards in the app. Tap a profile in a widget to open it directly in the app.
To add one, touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen to enter editing mode, then search for LAPLACE Cycles when adding a widget. Once it's added, touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget to pick which profiles it shows.
Cycle
The Cycle widget shows one profile as a card: the cycle dial, the current phase, and a countdown to the next period with its estimated date and how certain it is.
- Available in small, medium, and large sizes. The large size adds a calendar of the next four weeks: logged periods are solid, estimated periods and estimated ovulation windows are pale, rough estimates are dotted, and today is circled
- Choose the Profile in the widget's settings. Until one is chosen, the widget shows the first profile in the settings list (pinned profiles first, then by name)
- If the chosen profile is deleted, the widget shows “Profile Not Found”; touch and hold it to choose another profile
Shared Rhythms
The Shared Rhythms widget shows several profiles side by side:
- By default, it shows all profiles in your sort order on the Profiles tab. You can also change Show Profiles to Chosen Profiles in its settings to show only the profiles you pick, in the order you pick them
- The small size shows a grid of dials, the medium size a row of dials with countdowns, and the large and iPad-only extra large sizes the same cards as the Profiles tab
- You can choose up to 4 profiles in the small and medium sizes, 6 in the large size, and 8 in the extra large size
Language and Privacy
- Text in the widgets follows the app's language setting. The widget settings screen is provided by the system and uses the system language
- Names and cycle details are marked as privacy-sensitive, so iOS can hide them while the device is locked (for example, in StandBy)
- The widgets also work with tinted and clear Home Screen styles
Widgets can't read the app's database directly, so the app copies each profile's name, settings, logged periods, and photo to a shared container on this device for the widgets to read. This copy doesn't sync and contains no predictions: predictions are calculated as the widget is drawn. The app updates the copy after saving changes, receiving an iCloud sync, or changing the sort order or language.
