With calendar sync on, each profile you choose gets its own calendar in the Calendar app. Calendar sync is off by default, and its settings apply only to the current device.
Turning On Calendar Sync
- In Settings, tap Calendar Sync, then turn on Sync to Calendar. The first time you turn it on, iOS asks for calendar access.
- In the Profiles list below, choose the profiles to sync.
Creating calendars requires full access. If you granted only Add Events Only access, or turned off calendar access in system settings, the screen prompts you to allow full access in Settings.
Calendars and Events
- Each profile's calendar is named after it, such as “Mia · LAPLACE Cycles”, and is created in your default calendar account. If that account can't take a new calendar, iCloud is used instead, then the device. Calendars in a synced account also appear on your other devices, in widgets, and on the Lock Screen
- Each logged period becomes one all-day event (such as “Mia: Period”), marked as free. Back-to-back entries are merged into one event
- Under Events, Estimated Periods and Estimated Ovulation Windows (both on by default) add predictions for the next three cycles. Their titles say they're estimates, and their notes include the medical note and explain any rough estimates
Event titles include the profile's name. If the calendar is in a synced account, these names may appear on your other devices, in widgets, and on the Lock Screen.
When Calendars Update
Calendars update when you open the app or return to it, when a period log, profile, or setting changes, when the date changes, and after a time zone or language change.
Notes
- Edit periods in LAPLACE Cycles: When the app updates a calendar, it replaces any changes you made to its events in Calendar. Events you add to these calendars yourself are never changed or deleted
- Turning off deletes: Turning off a profile, deleting the profile, or turning off Sync to Calendar deletes the corresponding calendar, which also removes it from other devices that share the account
- Deleting in Calendar: Deleting a profile's calendar in the Calendar app turns off sync for that profile rather than recreating the calendar
- Multiple devices: Calendar sync settings are saved only on the current device. Turning on the same profile on another device, or after reinstalling, reuses the calendar with the same name instead of creating another one
- What the app reads: The app reads only the list of calendars and the events in the calendars it created, never events in other calendars
- Deleting the app: Deleting the app doesn't delete these calendars. You can delete them manually in the Calendar app
