Protecting customer privacy is a core principle of this site. Safeguarding, storing, and moving private information is a highly complex process. This privacy statement explains in plain language how this site (Subspace Shop) collects, uses, and protects that information
This statement supplements Shopify's Privacy Policy

This site is built on Shopify. Per its published Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy, the following is collected by Shopify once you shop here and place an order:
- Profile and contact information: name, shipping address, email address
- Device information: information about phones and other devices, including IP address (which may be used to approximate your location), device identifiers, cookie IDs, the browser you use, network connection, or other unique identifiers or device information
- Payment information: when you use Shop Pay or make a purchase through Shopify services, we receive payment information such as your payment card number and expiration date
- Use of Shopify consumer services: we receive information about your use of and interaction with Shopify consumer services, whether or not you are signed in to Shopify, including your interactions with Shopify merchants, the stores you visit, the products you view and visit, the product reviews and ratings you post and share, your order history, your interactions with Shop.app/search or other marketing activities related to Shopify consumer services, and the stores you follow
- Settings and privacy preferences: we receive information about your settings and preferences on Shopify and on our merchants, and about the privacy settings of your browser and device
- Communications with Shopify: when you communicate with Shopify (for example, a customer support inquiry, a survey, a promotion, or research), we receive information including message and email content
- Social network accounts: if you choose to link, connect, or sign in to Shopify consumer services through a third-party online service, you authorize that service to send us certain information about you that it controls, such as profile information. This sharing is governed by the applicable privacy statement and by that service's privacy settings
- Email and shopping service integrations: we receive information from emails in the inbox you connect to your Shop account, and from emails you forward into the app, so that they can be included in your order history. We do not use this information for advertising or marketing purposes

- As the owner of this site, I can access items 1 and 3 above; the rest is held by Shopify and unavailable to this site - This site does not enable Shop App or Shop Pay, so the collection described above for them does not apply here
Supplement to the Shop App and Shop Pay Privacy Policies
This site does not enable Shop App or Shop Pay, so the corresponding Shopify privacy policies do not apply here. But Shop App and Shop Pay are global Shopify services, so when you visit another Shopify-based site that has enabled them, your information is still collected by Shopify
Given that, this site provides a global "Do not sell or share my personal information" submission form. You can submit your request on the "Do not sell or share my personal information" page linked at the bottom of this site, and it goes directly to Shopify. The feature exists to satisfy the privacy laws of certain US states, but on this site you can submit the form regardless of which state or country you are in
Third-Party Suppliers
When you shop here, I send your order information to the supplier so it can ship the order. That information is retained by the supplier. The relevant supplier disclosures follow

Guangzhou Zhipin Apparel Co., Ltd., Shaoxing Yuecheng Sijie Home Textiles, and Yunxiao County Yunshangzhimeng Trading Co., Ltd. are reached through Taobao, so your order information is also retained by Taobao
Note
This site uses a separate, overseas-registered Taobao account to work with suppliers on Taobao, and makes every effort to protect customer privacy. In the worst case, such as another Taobao order-data leak, your order information would still be exposed
This site does not pass your email address to suppliers along with the order information; for the exact fields transmitted, see this site's open-source order processor Shopify Converter - On the last day of each calendar year, this site deletes all order information from the past year held at Rouzao and Taobao, to protect customer privacy as far as possible
Payment Gateways
- When you pay by credit card: your credit card information is collected by Shopify Inc., headquartered in the United States, Privacy Policy
- When you pay with Alipay+: the payment information required is collected by Alipay Singapore E-Commerce Private Limited, headquartered in Singapore, Privacy Policy
- When you are in mainland China and pay through its Alipay channel, your own payment records are kept on the Alipay platform, collected by Alipay (Hangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. in Hangzhou, Privacy Policy
- In other regions, the corresponding payment company collects them
- When you pay with NihaoPay: the payment information required is collected by Aurfy Inc., headquartered in the United States, Privacy Policy
- When you are in mainland China and pay through its WeChat Pay channel, your own payment records are kept on the WeChat platform, collected by Tenpay Payment Technology Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen, Privacy Policy
- In other regions, the corresponding payment company collects them

- Address Completion API - preprocesses shipping addresses
ID Card Information Collection
Normally, shopping here requires no real name and no ID card information
But when your cart contains items shipped from overseas and your shipping address is in mainland China, customs rules make Shopify collect the customer's identity information at checkout. Shopify forces this on and this site cannot turn it off, so this site does not recommend that customers in mainland China buy overseas-shipped items directly
When you buy across borders, your ID card information is passed to mainland China customs so the shipment clears
Note
Most overseas-shipped items here have a domestic equivalent; prefer the domestic version - If you do want to buy from abroad, use a package forwarder, in which case you give your ID card information to the forwarder rather than to this site
Privacy Best Practices
- Orders here need no real name; any nickname works as the recipient
- Do not use a QQ email address, because it spells out your QQ number: once your account information leaks anywhere in the chain, the leaked address points straight at your QQ account
- Give as little street-level detail as you can; use a parcel locker or a pickup point
- Use the receiving address provided by a forwarding service
Privacy Breaches
If you believe your personal information has been exposed, contact this site with the supporting evidence. I will handle it as soon as possible and do my best to help you with the appropriate remedies
