Comet

Login and Account Management

LAPLACE Comet authenticates through bilibili's official QR code login. Credentials are stored locally with operating-system-level encryption and never pass through a third-party server

QR Code Login

First Login

  • The login screen generates a QR code automatically when the app starts
  • Scan the QR code with the bilibili mobile app
  • Once you approve the request in the app, the desktop client signs in and opens the main interface
  • QR codes expire quickly; click Refresh to generate a new one

Credential Storage

After you sign in, credentials are encrypted by the operating system's own security mechanism:

PlatformStorage
macOSKeychain
WindowsCredential Store
LinuxSecret Service

You do not need to sign in again on the next launch — the app reads the saved credentials and restores the session automatically

Managing Multiple Accounts

LAPLACE Comet holds multiple bilibili accounts at once, so you can switch between them quickly

Adding an Account

  • Click the account avatar at the bottom left of the interface to open the account menu
  • Choose Add Account and scan the newly generated QR code to sign in
  • Once added, you can switch to the new account from the menu

Switching Accounts

  • Click the avatar at the bottom left and pick the target account from the Switch Account list
  • Switch with a keyboard shortcut: command/Ctrl + 1 through command/Ctrl + 9 map to the first nine accounts, and command/Ctrl + 0 maps to the tenth
  • Shortcut numbers are assigned by the account order set in Settings

Re-authenticating

When an account's session expires, Login Required appears under the account name:

  • Click the account in the account menu, or
  • Find the account in Settings and follow the prompt to scan a code again

Once re-authenticated, the account works as before, with no reconfiguration

Removing an Account

  • Click the avatar at the bottom left to open the account menu
  • Choose Remove Current Account to erase the currently signed-in account from this device

Signing Out

  • Click the avatar at the bottom left and choose Sign Out to log out of the current account
  • You return to the login screen, and other saved accounts are unaffected

Notes

  • Account shortcut numbers are determined by account order, which you can rearrange by dragging in Settings — see Settings
